Fushi Fresh-Ground® Supplements

All our herbs are ground from the whole plant/root as traditionally practised in Ayurveda for plant synergy and holistic wellbeing. Our supplements are made from freshly ground herbs from this season’s harvest and capsulated in our workshop within 1 hour after being ground. This retains potency and efficacy for maximum health benefits.

Each of our herbal supplements comes as a one-month supply. The duration depends on your condition and several other factors such as diet, lifestyle etc. Generally, our herbalist advises taking the remedy for a minimum of one month and continuously up to 3 months after which a 2-week break is advised. Dependent on the severity of your condition and advice from a qualified expert, you may take these over a more extended period.

Whilst herbs are natural and safe, as a precautionary measure we recommend that only those over the age of 16 take the adult dosage recommended on our products. For children between 10-16 you may halve the dosage as advised on the label. For very young children we advise you check with a practitioner.

The ideal time to take the herbs is 15 minutes before food with warm water. If digestion is weak, take them after food with warm water. If you have forgotten, just take them at any time.

You certainly can but be careful the taste will not always be palatable. However, in Ayurveda generally the herbs were always taken as powder form, and this was recommended for easier absorption. The choice is yours - you can empty the capsules into water or juice and drink.

Generally, our supplements are safe to take while trying for a baby, however we advise always to double check with your health advisor. Once pregnancy has been confirmed we advise against taking any supplements and/or speaking to a practitioner.

We also advise caution when using any supplements alongside prescribed drugs taken for blood-thinning, immune suppression, epilepsy, or psychosis, or for any life-threatening condition. Always consult a healthcare professional for advice. For other medication alongside, we advise that you take them at least two hours apart from each other.

We source our Ayurvedic herbs carefully from small holdings in South India, where they flourish as indigenous botanicals. Our western herbs are sourced sustainably either locally from the UK or from parts Europe. Each of the herbal supplements will list the origin on the label and on the website.

Our capsule shell is made from Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose. It is a clear, tasteless, vegetarian, and vegan appropriate material made from plant derived cellulose.

Fushi Fresh-Pressed® oils

All Fushi oils are freshly pressed and cold pressed from the season’s harvest of nuts, seed, kernels to produce pure 100% unrefined active beauty oils for face, body, hair and nutrition. These are freshly bottled in our London Workshop and each label will list the harvest date. Fresh and pure ingredients demonstrate far more efficacy and benefits for both beauty and health.

It depends on the fragility of the oil, however as a rule of thumb most oils will have a shelf life of between 12 – 24 months and we advise to use the oil within 6 months of opening to enjoy and benefit from its freshness and efficacy.

None, we do not use preservatives in our oils.

Our body already produces oil naturally. As we age that production decreases significantly. The skin needs oil to maintain a healthy balance, otherwise, it gets too dry which can cause breakouts, fine lines, and wrinkles. Which is why oils are so beneficial, they are 100% active ingredients with vital nutrients like fatty acids, vitamin E and other minerals that feed the skin topically and lock in hydration and keep skin supple.

We suggest applying the oil daily directly onto the skin, after you wash your face with warm water morning and night. You can also blend a few drops into your moisturiser for an even richer treatment. If the skin is a little damp when you apply the oil, this helps to lock in moisture.

Non-comedogenic oils help keep dry skin supple and oily skin acne-free. That is because non-comedogenic oils do not clog pores. The best low and non-comedogenic oil are Rosehip oil, Jojoba oil, Hemp Seed oil, Kalahari Melon oil, Argan oil, Camellia oil, Sweet Almond oil, Castor oil, Marula oil, Neem oil, Avocado oil, Sesame Seed oil, Tamanu oil, Calendula oil and Black Seed oil.

Our pure oils do not contain any preservatives. They really are 100% natural & fresh pressed, so we recommend them to be used once opened within 6 months. Our face, body and hair oils are packaged in a dark bottle which protects the oil from any light damage. We recommend storing your Fushi oils in a cool, dark place.

Some of our oils are/might be derived from nuts. If you have a nut allergy, we recommend you speak to your doctor before using any of these oils. If an irritation occurs, immediately discontinue use and visit your doctor. All our oils are pressed in an environment that may have traces of nuts, so we cannot guarantee a nut-free environment.

Most single carrier oils are quite safe avoid blending with essential oils.

Often oily skin produces more oil as a defence mechanism to balance out the loss of moisture on your skin. By using oils, the oil attracts oil and can dissolve excess sebum and grease helping to balance the skin and unclog oily pores. So, oil decongests oil.

Packaging

All our products come in recyclable dark glass bottles helping retain freshness and efficacy. Our in-house printing uses vegetable inks and non-laminated labels. So, all our outer packaging is biodegradable with the labels and bottles are recyclable.

We use paper packaging, paper adhesive tape and reused card which we shred and use to pack our orders.

Products

All our products are suitable for vegans except the Fushi Grass-fed Ghee which is vegetarian.

Over 85% of our products are organic, or wild harvested.

Unfortunately, this can happen even when using organic or natural ingredients, this does not eliminate the possibility of an individual reaction. Please contact our Customer Service team, who will be able to assist you with any concern you may have.

We are either waiting for fresh ingredients or there’s a delay in sourcing high quality raw materials. Being a small company that delivers fresh products, we tend to have very minimal shelf stock. This is why we may be often out of stock, but we are working hard to resolve this.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda, which actually means "science of life," is a sophisticated holistic health system that aims to achieve a balance between the mind, body, and awareness. Ayurveda is based on the principle that all things, including our bodies and minds, are influenced by underlying energies. Our health and wellbeing are influenced by the relationships between the five elements of air, water, fire, earth, and ether in our bodies. Ayurveda considers healthy dietary habits based on your individual body constitution, meditation, and its sister science, yoga, to be key cornerstones. When a new being is conceived, according to Ayurveda, three different sorts of body constitutions or doshas might be created and this is what makes us unique to each other.

Although the doshas are believed to be determined at the time of conception, they can also be altered though different life stages, diet, lifestyle, or external factors. It is important to identify which dosha is more predominant to keep them in balance, as this will enable us to better understand our strengths to improve our wellbeing. Certain foods, herbal medicines or lifestyle practises will favour you more depending on if you are Pitta, Vata or Kapha. On the contrary, not knowing this may lead to choosing the wrong foods, spices, herbs, or activities, and this can result in creating more imbalance of the delicate dosha system and aggravate the body in the form of intolerances, or bad reactions. Ultimately a long term dosha imbalance can cause disease.

Herbal preparations, when used correctly, can help balance doshas. Herbs were traditionally prepared with ghee, rock sugar, or honey, depending on the nature of the herb. These preparations are nutritious and help to maintain a harmonious balance of mind, body, and soul. They regenerate the entire body rather than focusing on a single organ or body system. Ayurvedic herbs may help treat the underlying issue while also keeping you fit in the long run. They are considered safe because they are in tune with nature, but if you have a pre-existing condition or are taking medication, you should consult an ayurvedic practitioner first. It is critical to follow these guidelines before taking ayurvedic medicines and therefore understanding your dosha is equally important.
