Frequently Asked Questions

What is Calendula Oil good for?

Calendula Oil is good for soothing and healing the skin. It can be used to relieve dry, irritated, or sensitive skin, promote wound healing, provide sunburn relief, alleviate diaper rash, and soothe a dry and itchy scalp.

Can you use Calendula Oil directly on skin?

Yes, Calendula Oil can be used directly on the skin. When using Calendula Oil on the skin, it is generally safe for most people, but it's always a good idea to perform a patch test first to check for any allergic reactions or sensitivity. To do a patch test, apply a small amount of calendula oil to a small area of your skin, such as the inside of your forearm. Wait for 24 hours and observe if there are any adverse reactions, such as redness, itching, or irritation. If there are no negative reactions, it is likely safe for you to use on a larger area of your skin.

Is Calendula Oil good for Rosacea?

Calendula Oil is often touted for its potential benefits in soothing and calming irritated skin, which can make it a popular choice for individuals with rosacea. However, it's important to note that Rosacea is a complex skin condition that can vary in severity and trigger factors from person to person. While some individuals with Rosacea may find relief and improvement in their symptoms by using Calendula Oil, it's not a guarantee that it will work for everyone. In general, when using any new product on rosacea-prone skin, it's important to do a patch test first to ensure you don't have any adverse reactions. Additionally, consider using products with gentle, non-irritating ingredients and avoiding known triggers for rosacea, such as harsh chemicals, fragrances, and excessive heat. Remember, what works for one person may not work for another, so it's best to consult a professional who can assess your individual situation and provide tailored recommendations.

Is Calendula good for Psoriasis?

While Calendula Oil is commonly used for its potential soothing and moisturising properties, there is limited scientific evidence specifically examining its effectiveness for psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition characterized by inflamed, scaly patches on the skin. While Calendula Oil may provide some relief for dryness and mild irritation associated with psoriasis, it is not considered a primary treatment for this condition. Medical treatments for psoriasis typically include topical corticosteroids, Vitamin D analogs, retinoids, and other prescribed medications. If you have psoriasis or any other skin condition, it is crucial to consult with a dermatologist or healthcare professional who can provide appropriate diagnosis, guidance, and treatment options based on your specific needs. They can recommend the most suitable and evidence-based treatments to manage your psoriasis effectively.

What does Calendula do for the skin?

Calendula, also known as marigold, has been used for centuries for its potential benefits in skincare. Calendula has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe and calm irritated or inflamed skin. It can be beneficial for conditions such as minor burns, rashes, insect bites, and sunburns. Calendula Oil is known for its hydrating properties, which can help moisturise dry or chapped skin. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, helping to retain moisture and prevent water loss. Calendula has been traditionally used to aid in wound healing. It may promote tissue regeneration and assist in the natural healing process of minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Calendula is generally considered gentle and well-tolerated, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. However, it's still important to perform a patch test to check for any allergic reactions or sensitivities before applying it to a larger area of the skin.
