Stories from our Growers: Moringa

At the heart of our journey lies the stories of those who cultivate the ingredients we cherish.

At Fushi, we forge partnerships with growers who share our commitment to sustainability, integrity and excellence. Each of these suppliers has a tale to tell - of dedication to the land, their communities and the exceptional quality that defines Fushi products.

Meet the Communities behind our Moringa

Our Moringa Oil begins its journey in Meikalarpatti, in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu, India. Traditionally valued in Ayurveda for its use in skin healing, moisturising and anti-ageing rituals, moringa has long been treasured for its nourishing qualities.

Our oil is sourced from a small-scale, family-owned farm run by farmer P. Subramaniam. Here, traditional farming practices are combined with natural pest control, creating an approach that remains closely connected to the land and local knowledge.

The project supports a minimum of 25 families, generating employment for local women and young people through seed collection and oil pressing. Alongside this, farmer education, organic training and healthcare awareness camps help strengthen the wider community.

Every harvest is about more than producing a high-quality ingredient, it's about supporting livelihoods, preserving knowledge and creating a more sustainable connection between people and the land.

Harvested in Harmony with Nature

At Fushi, we believe nature knows best, which is why we work in harmony with the seasons.

Moringa is harvested between January and March and again between July and September. Once collected, the seeds are de-husked, leaving only the kernel for pressing. This helps retain the naturally occurring nutrients in the oil.

The kernels are cold-pressed in small batches at temperatures below 45°C. The oil is then filtered using nylon mesh filters before being carefully stored.

Rich in oleic acid and antioxidants such as tocopherols, our Moringa Seed Oil has a light yellow appearance, a naturally nutty aroma and a smooth texture.

Every batch is carefully checked for quality. Samples are tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbial contamination, while visual inspection, pressing-temperature monitoring and storage controls help maintain quality throughout the supply chain.

More than an Ingredient

Known locally as a “miracle oil” for skin rejuvenation, Moringa Seed Oil has a long connection with Ayurvedic skincare.

Traditionally used for skin healing, moisturising and anti-ageing, moringa seed oil is valued for its nourishing qualities. By cold-pressing only the de-husked kernel, we aim to preserve the natural nutrients found within the seed.

Our Moringa Seed Oil is small-batch pressed and filtered, resulting in a smooth, light yellow oil with a subtle nutty aroma, ready to become part of your daily skincare ritual.

Sustainability at Every Step

The moringa is sourced and processed locally in Tamil Nadu before being transported to a central processing hub for export. Sustainable agricultural methods are used, alongside natural pest control and organic farming practices.

Nothing goes to waste unnecessarily. Seed husks are composted, helping return organic matter to the soil, while no chemical waste is generated during the process.

At source, the oil is bulk packed in recyclable woven sacks and gunny bags, helping to reduce unnecessary packaging.

The project also supports local biodiversity and helps build organic farming knowledge within the communities involved.
