in the heart of our journey lies the stories of those who cultivate the ingredients we cherish.
At Fushi, we forge partnerships with growers who share our commitment to sustainability, integrity, and excellence. Each of these suppliers has a tale to tell - of dedication to the land, to their communities, and to the exceptional quality that defines Fushi products such as our Rosehip Oil.
Stories from our Growers: Rosehip
It all starts and ends with the individuals who grow and collect the ingredients that are dear to us.
At Fushi, we form lasting relationships with growers and suppliers who have similar values to us regarding sustainability, integrity, and quality. Each of our ingredients come with a story, one that's born from the land, the culture the local practices and communities.
Meet the Communities behind our Rosehip
The starting point of our Rosehip Oil is the Volyn Region of Ukraine, where it grows in the wild landscapes of the mountains and forests.
As a medicinal herb in Ayurveda, rosehip has been recognised as a plant that helps balance the Pitta Dosha and increase your overall life force energy. In addition, the value of rosehip as an ingredient useful for maintaining healthy skin has been known for centuries, due to it's high amount of naturally contained vitamins, essential fatty acids and bioactive compounds.
Our Rosehip is produced by family-run and women-led suppliers. Since it is a wild plant, its cultivation does not require the use of any chemical substances or irrigation. Instead, manual harvesting provides a farming method that maintains its close relationship with nature, while ensuring healthy soil and biodiversity.
The collection of Rosehip is mainly carried out by these family farmers and rural cooperatives, including many women. And, for some families, collecting Rosehip is an additional source of income.
Harvesting, employment, education, healthcare and other aspects of improving the rural life are also so important for rural community development, which is why for us; harvesting Rosehip becomes much more than just production of quality ingredients.

Harvested in Harmony with Nature
Fushi believes in the concept of working in harmony with nature. Including utilising the rhythm of the seasons as well as the raw materials in their natural cycles.
Rosehip collection takes place during the season of autumn when the fruits are plentiful in their natural habitat.
The processing of Rosehip seeds takes place within one to three days after they are harvested - helping them to preserve the vitamins, retinoids, and fatty acids present in the natural seeds.
Pressing of seeds takes place in small batches at a temperature no more than 45 degrees Celsius, and the filtering of the oil is carried out through traditional belt filters, so that it's special fatty acid composition of 20-25% alpha-linolenic acid and 40-50% linoleic acid, is not lost.
Control of the quality takes place throughout the entire process. Testing for heavy metals and microbiological contamination is consistently checked on the Rosehip samples.

More than an Ingredient
Rosehip is known in folk medicine as the "berry of health" and has been used for centuries across Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Carpathian countries.
The fruits are used as an immunity booster, promotes healthy skin, and used as a skin wounds dressing. It's greatly appreciated in the cosmetic industry due to it's moisturising and nourishing effects for skin.
One of the most important features of maintaining a high-quality ingredient is the processing of seeds right after the harvest. The extraction and processing of Rosehip within two to three days from harvesting will help to maintain the level of natural vitamins, retinoids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids which are sensitive to storage conditions.
Fushi's Rosehip Oil is cold pressed and filtered in small amounts, resulting in a light and golden-amber oil with a distinctive fruity scent. Easily absorbed by the skin and will most definitely leave your skin moisturised and nourished, without leaving a greasy residue.
Sustainability at Every Step
Our dedication to sustainability starts even before the oil reaches the bottle.
Rosehip is extracted, then undergoes primary processing in the Volyn Region and is carefully delivered to our processing facility for export. The batch number is assigned to each batch of raw material and oil, so the origin of the supplier and the end-product can always be traced.
The Oil is packed and transported in food-grade barrels or containers, helping in reducing unnecessary impact on the environment. No waste materials are left unused; our products of the pressing process can be employed in making animal feed, dietary supplements, and cosmetics industry – thus, we aim at developing a circular and low-waste system.
As Rosehip grows wild, it requires no chemical substances such as pesticides, artificial fertilisers and irrigation. Hand-picking reduces the harm to the environment and is particularly beneficial to the conservation of soils, forests and biodiversity. And finally, International shipment is combined whenever possible.

From Farm to Bottle
From the forests and family-run households of Volyn to your daily skincare ritual, every bottle of Fushi Rosehip Oil represents a connection between nature, community and traditional knowledge.
Each bottle is produced through the efforts of the farmers and locals with their generations of wisdom as well as the centuries-old cold pressing process.
Annual internal audits, laboratory testing and quality controls help ensure that the ingredient remains pure, carefully handled and true to its source.
It is this journey, from seed to oil, from farmer to bottle, that allows us to bring you Rosehip Oil with the freshness, traceability and integrity at the heart of Fushi.
